William Sheats
William grew up in Fort Worth, TX, chasing all the hunting opportunities that Texas has to offer from deer to turkey and everything in between. After graduating from Country Day, he went on to play baseball at the University of Dayton, and in his very little time off, he began guiding hog and waterfowl hunts.
Managing an elk property as great as White River has been a lifelong dream for William, and he and his wife Tallia jumped at the opportunity to live full-time on the ranch running all operations and outfitting elk hunts in September and October.
"WRMR is so much more than an elk hunt, don't get me wrong the elk are incredible but it's the relationships that make this place so special. From getting to know the clients year after year to the guides and our chef that I get to spend my Septembers with. There's never a shortage of amazing people here." -William

Troy Behrens
Troy has been chasing elk in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado for 30+ years. Over a decade of that has been guiding friends and clients on successful hunts. Elk hunting is hands down his favorite outdoor adventure. Coming into his 7th season at WRMR, Troy has landed himself into the lead guide roll and takes on a strong stewardship of not only the Outfit itself but the ranch as a whole. He spends his summers counting elk on the ranch, scouting bulls, and working to create better habitat for the elk and other wildlife.
One of Troy’s top priorities is making sure his clients are taken care of and enjoying the hunting experience to the fullest. “It’s not just about killing big bulls. It’s the sounds, smells, textures, it’s everything! We only get a short period of time every year to cherish these encounters. You have to learn to appreciate every moment, and WRMR provides it ALL!” - Troy
